Joel Waldron: Worked for Everton for 12 years

Former Everton Academy Manager Joel Waldron has joined the Professional Game Academy Audit Company (PGAAC) as a Leadership and Management Auditor.

Waldron left Everton last December after 12 years. He was Academy Manager from 2017 to 2020 before becoming Academy Chief Operating Officer.

PGAAC, which was set up in 2018 to provide independent quality assurance of English club Academies, has made other senior appointments too.

Dan Copnall has left Everton, where he was Assistant Head of Academy Coaching, to become a Coaching Auditor for PGAAC. He held that same role from 2019 to February 2023 before joining the Toffees.

His replacement at Everton is James Dunn, who was previously U9s coach. Everton already have another Assistant Head of Coaching in Tom Kearney.

Former Tottenham Academy Manager Dean Rastrick joined PGAAC as a Leadership and Management Auditor in December. He had worked for Spurs for 13 years.

And, as TGG reported last week, Gary Penn has been appointed to the new role of Head of Audit Development by PGAAC. He will continue in his role as a Leadership and Management Auditor.
