Espanyol make approach for Wolves' Euro scouting supremo

SPANISH side Espanyol have made an approach for Wolves European scout Miguel Rios.

The La Liga outfit want the Londoner, who has extensive links in Spain, to head up their recruitment department. They are eager to develop both their scouting network and analytical capabilities and believe Rios fits the bill.

He was also approached Deportivo La Coruna, but the La Liga outfit appointed Carmelo Del Pozo from Levante yesterday. Rios only joined Wolves last September, having previously been senior scout at Fulham for two years.

He worked for Brentford for five years and also had spells at Barcelona and Arsenal. Rios, who comes from a Spanish background, worked in both coaching and scouting roles at Brentford.

He declined to comment when contacted by TGG.
