ChatGPT for Scouting Masterclass

ChatGPT and other Large Language models are changing how we write and read texts.
In the ChatGPT for Scouting Masterclass, Professor David Sumpter will explain what they can do in a football context and show how to make the most of the new technology when writing scouting reports.
He will introduce ScoutGPT, a unique new technology which allows you to generate player summaries directly from data. This Masterclass is aimed at anyone working in football who wants to know how to get the most of these new technologies.
The Masterclass will be interactive and follow-along and will cover:
- How ChatGPT can be used ‘out of the box’ to improve how we write about players and summarise stats. This will include: how to use ChatGPT and input data; what to believe and what not to believe; and how to formulate queries to get the best results.
- A demonstration of Twelve’s new ScoutGPT technology, which allows you to write a scouting report (combining visuals and text) on the skills of pretty much any player in the world. David will explain how it works and how it can be adapted to different tasks, from match commentary to writing match summaries.
- How Chatbot models can be integrated into your scouting workflow using Python, because specialised language models can allow more detailed reports and outputs.
The participants will be given temporary access to ScoutGPT for a limited period of time after the course to try it for themselves.
The Masterclass is on Zoom at 2pm UK time on Tuesday December 5th. It will run for two hours with a 30-minute break in the middle.

David Sumpter is a Professor at the University of Uppsala in Sweden and co-founder of the Twelve Football data science consultancy. He has worked with leading football clubs and federations, including Barcelona and England and authored several books and more than 100 scientific articles.
