Chadd leaves City Football Group to join Benfica

NICK CHADD has left City Football Group and Manchester City after five-and-a-half years to become Head of Sport Science and Strength and Conditioning at Portuguese giants Benfica.

Chadd joined City's Academy as Head of Sport Science and S&C, having previously worked for the English Institute of Sport, Wasps and Sheffield United.

In August 2019, he was promoted to Lead Sport Scientist and Strength and Conditioning Coach for City Football Group.

Writing on LinkedIn, Chadd said: “Last week saw me finish an incredible time with Manchester City and City Football Group. Thank you for the memories, learnings and most importantly many new friends.

"Thank you Grant Downie OBE (Manchester City's former Head of Academy Performance) for the trust and giving me the opportunity 5 1/2 years ago. On to the next adventure."
