SPORT SCIENTIST Nathan Beardsley has left Nottingham Forest after seven and a half years to join England Rugby.

Beardsley joined the Championship club as an intern in June 2012 and worked his way up to a full-time job in the Academy before becoming first-team sport scientist in March 2014.

He is already with the England squad as they prepare for their Six Nations opener against France on Sunday February 2nd.

England rugby coach Eddie Jones appeared on the Training Ground Guru podcast earlier this month and said sports science "particularly I have found in the UK, has put parameters on what you can do.

“‘Players can only run this amount, a certain number of days in a row’. But no-one really knows. The greatest feedback for your training is the game. Has anyone ever played the perfect game? No.”
