FORMER Scotland international Charlie Adam has been appointed Loans Manager and Professional Development Phase Coach at Burnley.

The 36-year-old has been assisting PDP Lead Andy Farrell with the U21s all season, but has now added the loans remit to his responsibilities as well.

Adam, who won 26 caps for Scotland, left Dundee at the end of his contract in May and then announced his retirement from playing last month. He is Burnley’s first ever Loans Manager.

Mike Jackson was PDP Lead last season before becoming caretaker manager when Sean Dyche was sacked in April. He has remained on the first-team staff under Vincent Kompany.
