FOOTBALL EXECUTIVE

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Gretar Steinsson

Nationality: Icelandic

Premier League defender with Bolton and won Dutch league title with AZ Alkmaar. Was Technical Director at Fleetwood Town, persuading the owner of need for role, and then joined Everton under Sporting Director Marcel Brands (with whom he had worked at AZ), first as Chief European Scout and then Head of Recruitment and Development. Was Performance Director at Tottenham for just under a year before joining Leeds in July 2023.

HEAD OF FOOTBALL OPERATIONS

Adam Underwood

Nationality: English

Moved into this new role when 49ers Enterprises took ownership of the club in July 2023. Had previously been Academy Manager at the club for 14 years. Spoke to TGG about his work in January 2023.

COACHING

HEAD COACH

Daniel Farke

Nationality: German

Spent the majority of his career playing for SV Lippstadt in Germany, who he also started his managerial career with, taking them from the sixth to fourth tier. Took over at Borussia Dortmund reserves in 2015 and then went to Norwich City, which is where he enjoyed the most successful spell of his career, leading them to two promotions to the Premier League. Short stints with Krasnodar in Ukraine and Borussia Monchengladbach in his homeland have followed before Leeds came calling in July 2023.

ASSISTANT

Eddie Riemer

Nationality: German

Former centre back was managed by Farke at SV Lippstadt and then joined his coaching staff at Borussia Dortmund II. Stayed with him at Norwich, Krasnodar, Monchengladbach and now Leeds.

FIRST-TEAM COACH

Christopher John

Nationality: German

Worked with Farke at SV Lippstadt and reunited with him at Norwich City. Has been with him ever since, at Krasnodar, Monchengladbach and now Leeds.

GOALKEEPER COACH

Ed Wootten

Nationality: English

Worked with Farke at Norwich and has now joined him at Leeds. Joined the Canaries as an Academy coach in 2015 before become first-team keeper coach in summer of 2017. Prior to this he had spent 10 years at Colchester United.

MEDICAL & PERFORMANCE

HEAD OF PERFORMANCE

Chris Domogalla

Nationality: German

First worked with Farke at Dortmund II and went with him to Norwich, Krasnodar and Monchengladbach. Qualified as a physio and sport scientist. Spoke to TGG about his career journey in 2019.

HEAD OF MEDICAL & PERFORMANCE

Rob Price

Nationality: English

Held the same role at Hull City for five years, having previously worked with Liverpool and the Football Association. Responsible for getting the players physically prepared for Bielsa's notoriously demanding style of play.

SPORT SCIENTIST

Tom Robinson

Nationality: English

A graduate of Leeds Beckett who joined the club as an intern in October 2011. Progressed to become a Strength and Conditioning Coach and Academy Sports Scientist before being promoted to the first team in June 2016.

FITNESS COACH

Ruben Crespo

Nationality: Spanish

Worked at Krasnodar in Russia for a year before joining Hull in July 2016, where he worked with Rob Price. Moved to Leeds at the same time as his boss.

HEAD PHYSIO

Henry McStay

Nationality: Irish

Joined the Thorp Arch team in August 2012 and promoted to the first team in November 2015. Became head physio when Steve Megson left shortly after Marcelo Bielsa's appointment.

MASSEUR

Paul Evans

Nationality: Welsh

Played more than 550 games as a pro and was capped by Wales. Experienced massage therapist who has also worked for Notts County, Derby and Leicester.

PERFORMANCE NUTRITIONIST

Andy Jenkinson

Nationality: English

Joined from Northampton Saints in October 2018.

Alex Davies

Nationality: English

At Elland Road for more than eight years. Started as Performance Analyst, promoted to head of department and then moved to scouting after Bielsa arrived.
