MANCHESTER CITY Head Physio Lee Nobes is leaving the club after 11 years to join rivals Liverpool.

Yesterday’s 3-1 win over Manchester United was Nobes’ final game for City and he bid farewell to players and staff at the end.

His new role at Liverpool begins on November 26th, after the international break. Nobes replaces Matt Konopinski after the former Liverpool Head Physio left to join the Football Association in September.

When Nobes joined City from nearby Oldham Athletic in October 2007, Sven-Goran Eriksson was manager.

Since then, he has gone on to work under four more bosses - Mark Hughes, Roberto Mancini, Manuel Pellegrini and Pep Guardiola - and was a popular figure with both players and staff.

Nobes also featured regularly in the recent Amazon documentary All or Nothing - often accompanying players to visit Dr Ramon Cugat in Barcelona.

During his time at City, he worked with two current Liverpool first-team players - James Milner and Daniel Sturridge. City will advertise for his replacement in due course.
